Green Mountain Coffee Roasters Join EERC’s Coffee-to-Energy Initiative

Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has joined the
Energy and Environmental Research Centre
(EERC) initiative to develop a biomass gasification system designed to gasify coffee waste,

reported. Bio-energy specialist Wynntryst is also part of the development. The proposed system would gasify coffee residue, plastic packaging and paper and use the syngas as a fuel. The waste would be sourced by a coffee processing plant, and would provide integrated solutions for producing renewable heat and power using available waste, instead of landfilling it. ...
